$175,000 Settlement for Child Who Almost Lost His Finger While Visiting a Family Friendly Outdoor Space in Atlanta
The Baer Law Firm agreed to a $175,000 settlement on behalf of a young boy who almost lost his pinky finger when he was six. While visiting a family-friendly outdoor space in Atlanta, the 6-year-old boy became curious about an interesting statute and started to climb it. The statue came apart causing heavy stones to crash down and sever his finger. The young boy has had two surgeries to reattach his finger, but he has little use of it and cannot fully straighten or bend it. Thanks to his resiliency and determination, he can still play on monkey bars and participate in gymnastics. The settlement funds were placed into a Trust for his college education.
